We live in North America, in Canada and the United States.
While legal residents of the US can freely travel between States, and legal residents of Canada can freely travel between Provinces, we believe that the legal residents of these two countries would be better served if they could travel just as freely between them.
While it might be a strange idea here in North America, Europe adopted this concept about 40 years ago on 14 June 1985 with 5 founding member countries establishing their Schengen Area.

This CANUSA PROJECT INC is hoping to promote thought and discussion about Canada and the USA adopting such a system here.
As you can see in the above graphic, Schengen in Europe has led to faster transportation, reduced costs and boosted trade volume, plus it has dramatically increased travel especially among younger people within the zone for arts, recreation education and even work.
Every day, over 3.5 million people cross internal borders there in those 29 participating countries for work, study, or to visit family and friends, without any additional paperwork and, in the vast majority of cases, without additional waiting times. This is not just about saving time at the border – it also reduces costs, fosters talent mobility, and brings Europeans closer together.
